OKLAHOMA CITY - The Oklahoma City volleyball team earned back-to-back sweeps for the first time since September of 2021 after the three-set victory over Central Christian.

Set 1
Central Christian started on top 5-1 before OCU hit its stride by putting together a 5-0 run on a pair of kills from Ruby Kelley and kills from Michela De Stefano and Natalie Adams. With OCU leading 13-8 the Tigers clawed their way back in it with a 7-1 run capped off with a kill by Amanda Dotter to put Central Christian on top 15-14. Back and forth the lead went until OCU scored three consecutive points, finished off with an ace by Adams to give OCU a lead of 21-18. Junior Rylee Steward completed the set with a kill to give the Stars a 25-20 first-set victory,
Set 2
The first three points of the second set went in the Stars direction followed up by a shift in momentum as the Tigers scored the next five points to go up 5-3. OCU found a way to gain the momentum back as the Stars scored four straight on kills by Kelley and Emma Nickerson. Leading 14-11 OCU closed out the second set outscoring Central Christian 11-3 as Kelley collected three kills and Steward had two kills in that span to help push Oklahoma City to a 25-14 second set win.
Set 3
On the verge of a sweep, OCU got out to an early 5-0 run with kills by Adams, Kelley, and Steward to lead the way. Central Christian kept it tight as a Dotter kill gave the Tigers a 14-13 lead before OCU caught fire and went on an 8-2 run as multiple Stars got in on the action including De Stefano, Kelley, and Nickerson to give the Stars a 20-15 lead. Oklahoma City closed out the third set by outscoring the Tigers 5-2 as Steward supplied the match-winning block to secure a sweep for OCU as the Stars took set three 25-17.
Game Notes
- Oklahoma City picked up 36 kills while Central Christian collected 21. Both squads had four aces apiece while OCU led with 32 assists to the Tigers 19.
- The OCU defense was on full display with 54 digs and eight blocks as Central Christian collected three blocks and tallied up 47 digs.
- Ruby Kelley led the match with 10 kills, making it her seventh match of the season with double-digit kills. Kelley also led the match with four blocks and collected one ace.
- Natalie Adams held the match lead with 26 assists while putting together five kills on a .500 attack percentage.
- Kaitlyn Dunlap tied the match lead with 14 digs followed by Riley Winkler with 11 digs, tying the second-highest total digs she has had this season.
- OCU picks up back-to-back sweeps for the first time since September 8th and September 10th of 2021 coming against Southwestern Christian and Langston.
- Oklahoma City stays unbeaten in the series history against Central Christian dating back to 2017 as the Stars move to 12-0 over the Tigers after the win on Saturday.
