OKLAHOMA CITY - The Oklahoma men's soccer team kicked off a five game home stand on Thursday with a 4-1 win over Randall University with two goals coming in each half to keep the Stars undefeated at home for their fourth win of the year.

First Half
Nearing the 20 minutes only one shot for each side had been taken so far. Keita Kishino took the first shot of the game in the fifth minute resulting in a block by the Saints defense. Jason Montanez-Martinez for Randall took his shot in the sixth minute of play going wide right. Finally, the Stars got out on the attack as David Imbert sent a pass up to Bernardo Duarte kicking it past the hands of the goalie and into the net for the first goal of the match to put OCU ahead 1-0. Inside the final five minutes of the first half, Duarte extended the Stars lead to 2-0 with his second of the half and his fourth of the season. Jayson Riley assisted on the Duarte goal sending Oklahoma City into the intermission up two.
Second Half
It didn't take long for Randall to make their mark as Abraham Dzintars scored the first goal of the match for the Saints on an assist from Sheldon Worlund only five minutes into the second half. The score remained 2-1 for over 30 minutes of action until Marco Alongi broke the drought and put the Stars back up by two with his first goal of the season on an assist from Aiden Mieger. As the final minutes began to decrease the Oklahoma City defense allowed only one shot from Randall which was saved by the Stars goalkeeper Derrick Rodriguez. Into the final seconds of the match, almost all said and done Jordan Da Costa took advantage of a pass ahead from Duarte as Da Costa made a move and sent the ball into the goal with two seconds remaining, finishing off a 4-1 victory over the Saints on Thursday afternoon.
Game Notes
- OCU played very aggressively on offense having 25 shots taken with 12 coming in the first half and 13 in the second half. Randall on the other hand was held to only five shots, with two in the first half and three in the second,
- OCU took nine shots on goal while Randall took three of their shots on goal.
- Bernardo Duarte scored two goals with both coming in the first half. Duarte's two scores give him four in the season leading him to surpass his 2022 season total of two goals.
- Junior forward from Varese, Italy Marco Alongi cashed in his first goal of the season, also his first in an OCU uniform.
- Senior midfielder Jordan Da Costa scored for the fourth straight game tying Duarte with a team lead of four goals for the season.
- Even with Randall a short distance away from the Oklahoma City campus, Thursday's match was only the third time these two schools have squared off. OCU currently holds a 3-0 lead in the series dating back to 2021 as the Stars have outscored the Saints 13-3.

The OCU men's soccer team will have just a day of rest before being back in action on Saturday, Sept. 16. The Stars will take on Arizona Christian to continue their long home stand at Brian Harvey Field at noon.
