First Half
Right out the gate Southwestern College struck first with a goal from Nalan Kentner, his second of the season in the second minute of play. David Imbert, who achieved the hat trick on Monday along with Sage Trevino both put shots near the goal but could not find the back of the net. Oklahoma City continued to be aggressive throughout the first half taking 10 shots to Southwestern's six. Midway through the first period on their fourth shot Southwestern College scored its second goal on the night as Mamadou Diarra cashed in his fifth goal of the season. Diarra's goal put the Moundbuilders up 2-0 at the end of the first half of play.
Second Half
Out of the half OCU needed to pick things up quickly and get into a groove. Both teams came out firing back and forth as shots from sophomore Bernardo Duarte and Trevino came up offline and failed to fall. Twenty minutes remaining in the second half and Southwestern College sank another goal coming from Diarra for the second time, giving him his sixth goal of the season as the Moundbuilders took a 3-0 lead. OCU took only one more shot following the Diarra goal which came from senior Jordan Da Costa only to be swatted away by Southwestern goalie KJ Masso. With time running out in the final minute of play, Southwestern's Reuben Kadanthottu launched a long kick from the middle of the field going over the head of the OCU goalkeeper Danilo Vilani and into the net. Southwestern College completed back-to-back shutout victories by defeating OCU 4-0 moving the Stars to 1-1 to start the season.
