First Half
Coming off of its first win Oklahoma City looked to keep the momentum going as the Stars came out with three shots in the first 12 minutes from McLain Moss, Abby Russell, and Reese Roberts. Without getting a shot to go OCU turned up its defense as Southwestern College took seven shots in the first period and could not get anything by OCU goalkeeper Gemma Harvey who picked up three saves in the first forty-five minutes. The two teams headed into the locker room with no score as OCU only took one more shot in the last 33 minutes of play.
Second Half
Coming out of the break OCU remained aggressive with Roberts taking three shots in the first 10 minutes as well as Moss giving it a try only to be denied by Southwestern goalie Mallorie Lund. In the 58th minute of play, Southwestern College found the back of the net giving the game its first score as Bryanna Kuhn cashed in her first goal of the season on an assist from Daniela Barrantes to give the Moundbuilders a 1-0 lead. Oklahoma City kept trying but to avail until a foul in the box on Southwestern in the 75th minute gave OCU a penalty kick try to tie the match. Abby Russell got the opportunity to take the PK and with much success, Russell put the Stars on the board with her first goal of the season. In the final 15 minutes, OCU's defense locked down their side of the pitch by not allowing Southwestern to take a single shot. As time was winding down Russell and Jimena Martinez took their shot, however, could not get one to fall. As time expired the match ended in a 1-1 draw as neither team could come up with another goal.
