The OCU defense locked down the back of the pitch and let nothing go by as Bethany did not get off a single shot in the first forty-five. Although the Stars remained aggressive with shots coming on-goal from Ashley Russell and Sydney Hawkins in the final minutes of play in the first half, Bethany goalkeeper Mackenzie Nutter allowed nothing to get through and the teams headed into the locker room scoreless at the half.
Second Half
The Stars continued to be aggressive in the beginning of the second period and it only took 15 minutes for OCU to get one past Nutter and into the net. McLain Moss, a senior out of Tulsa, Okla. Got one to go on the assist from Abby Russell in the 61st minute of play to give the Stars a 1-0 lead. Just over a minute later Oklahoma City struck again as Moss stayed in on the action sending a nice pass to freshman Reese Roberts for the second goal of the evening. In the final 10 minutes with the contest feeling out of reach, OCU refused to stop as Ruby Nichols added on the lead with a goal in the 81st minute to close out the match and send the Stars onto their first win of the season by a score of 3-0.
