GOODWELL, Okla. - Oklahoma City University split their final away series with a 4-0 win and 1-3 loss at Panhandle State on Sunday. OCU moved to 40-7 on the season.
The Stars scored every third inning with a run in the first, one in the third and two in the sixth.
Kamryn Garvie flied out to the center fielder and drove home
Tiffany Paul. In the second
Rally Radacy's RBI single drove home Paul again. In the sixth,
Lexi Duff singled and drove in
Brooklyn Mason and
Kaitlyn Jones.
Ten hits from OCU led to Jones and Radacy claiming two. Paul, Garvie,
Analise Rayburn, Mason, Duff, and Crabaugh all had one a piece. The Stars only struck out once all game.
Shelbey Cornelson moved to 21-2 on the season as she struck out six Panhandle State batters while allowing four hits in seven innings of work.
OCU mustered up one run off of eight hits in game two of the double-header. The Stars fell behind 1-0 in the first. The Aggies added two more with one in the third and fourth.
The Stars only run came in the fifth as Jones led off with a double. Duff singled home Jones for the RBI. Duff also picked up four strikeouts but came up short on the decision as she picked up her fifth loss on the season.
Stars will play their final series of the regular season as they host Mid-America Christian on Tuesday at Ann Lacy Stadium. The Stars and Evangels have their seeds locked which means these games have no effect on the playoff seeds.
