OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University rolled to a 10-2 victory over Southwestern Christian on Thursday at Eagle Field at Dolese Park.
Analise Rayburn's home run put the exclamation point on the win as the teams completed the game Thursday afternoon after starting the contest Wednesday. Oklahoma City, ranked fifth in NAIA softball, improved to 37-7, 24-2 in the Sooner Athletic Conference.
Inclement weather stopped the game Wednesday in the bottom of the fifth inning with OCU leading 6-2.
Rayburn crushed a three-run blast over the center-field wall in the sixth inning.
The Stars struck for four runs in the second inning to move into the lead. Brooklyn Mason and Amy Crabaugh bunted in a pair of runs, then scored on Tiffany Paul's fly ball to right field.
Lexi Duff provided OCU a 7-2 fifth-inning advantage by smacking an RBI single along the right-field foul line.
Rally Radacy, a sophomore exercise science major from Lookeba, Okla., went 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored. Crabaugh, Kaitlyn Jones and Carlee Mollet each scored two runs.
Duff, a senior biochemistry major from Lone Grove, Okla., nabbed the victory by working 5.1 innings. Duff improved to 13-4 on the season and recorded nine fly balls and seven groundouts. Shelbey Cornelson notched the final two outs of the game.
OCU concludes its home regular-season schedule with a 2 p.m. doubleheader against Mid-America Christian on Tuesday at Ann Lacy Stadium.
