OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University wiped out Panhandle State 12-2 on Sunday at Jim Wade Stadium.
Trent Kiraly drove in three runs for the Stars. OCU moved to 14-13, 6-3 in Sooner Athletic Conference baseball on the season.
The Stars got out to an early 3-0 lead with a couple of RBI singles from
Trent Kiraly and
Jesse Fonteboa.
Oklahoma City took a commanding 7-2 lead in the fourth. Kiraly doubled to score two runs, and
Chad Pike singled in another run.
Hunter Brown had a total of two hits and two RBIs with both RBIs coming in the fifth off a sharply hit ball to second base that skipped past Ryoto Kusumoto.
OCU scored three in the eighth.
Tristan Williams and
Heath Brown posted RBI doubles in the eighth to close out the scoring.
Kiraly led OCU with three RBIs off two hits.
Hunter Brown, Williams,
Felix Chenier-Rondeau and
Aiden Alexander all had two hits in the Stars' 15-hit perforrmance.
Andrew Limbaugh was dominant in his six innings of work as he picked up eight strikeouts on 90 pitches, allowing two earned runs.
Grant Harrison and
Reese Ratchford combined for four strikeouts in the final two innings.
OCU will head to Texas Wesleyan on Friday for two games starting at 1 p.m.
