EDMOND, Okla. – Oklahoma City University will compete in a group with eight other teams in the Allen Pease Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday at the Rose Creek Golf Club.
The field features Oklahoma City, ranked seventh in NAIA men's golf, and No. 11 Texas Wesleyan on the par-72, 7,048-yard course. The 54-hole tournament begins with a shotgun start 9 a.m. Monday and Tuesday.
Dylan Teeter tops OCU with a 70.83 scoring average in six rounds, while Leandro Mihaich has accumulated a 71.65 stroke average in 17 rounds. In the Oak Tree Invitational, Mihaich, a freshman from Córdoba, Argentina, majoring in marketing, took third place with a 69-73-66–208 to finish three shots behind the tournament winner with eight birdies and an eagle March 13-14 at Oak Tree Country Club in Edmond, Okla. Mihaich came up with his second top-five finish of the season. His best performance came in the SCU Invitational with a tie for second, carding a 68-66-66–200.
Teeter has posted a tie for sixth and a tie for 11th in his two tournaments this season. Teeter, a sophomore from Bixby, Okla., studying accounting, collected the SAC individual title last year at The Territory Golf and Country Club in Duncan, Okla. Tres Hill, a sophomore finance major from Elk City, Okla., has supplied the Stars with 73.47 shots per round this season. Will Fore, a senior exercise science major from Southlake, Texas, claimed his first career title at the U.C. Ferguson Classic earlier this season, capping it off with a 60-foot birdie on the final hole. Fore has turned in a 73.71 stroke average.
OCU opened the season with team championships in the U.C. Ferguson Classic on Aug. 29-30 at Lincoln Park Golf Course and in the Southwestern Christian Invitational on Sept. 6-7 at Lake Hefner Golf Course in Oklahoma City.
In the most recent time the Stars competed at Rose Creek, OCU posted an 18-stroke win over Southwestern Christian on Oct. 4-5, 2021. Teeter finished second with a 69-68-67–204, while Hill came in third with a 66-71-71–208.
Oklahoma City owns 11 national titles won in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2007, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2016, 2018.
