OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University has announced the hiring of Harvey Paul as men's and women's soccer assistant coach and director of soccer operations.
Paul will provide support for head coach Billy Martin in all aspects of the OCU men's and women's programs. Paul spent the previous three years competing for the Stars on the pitch.
"I'm very excited to have Harvey Paul on board as director of soccer operations and assistant soccer coach," Martin said. "He has big shoes to fill replacing Nathan Doll, but I'm confident that he will do a great job. Harvey brings a lot of playing and coaching experience even at his young age. He has great pride in Oklahoma City University and the soccer programs and will work very hard in continuing the great tradition that coach Brian Harvey has set."
From Bristol, England, Paul earned his degree in business administration from Oklahoma City. He provided the Stars with three goals, 14 assists and 20 points while making 40 starts from 2020-22. In 2021, Paul posted career highs with two goals, five assists and nine points and garnered second-team all-Sooner Athletic Conference.
Paul gained recognition for his academic achievement as an NAIA scholar-athlete and SAC scholar-athlete award winner, two-time academic all-conference recipient, two-time commissioner's honor roll honoree and Chi Alpha Sigma inductee.
"I'm really excited to continue to be a part of Oklahoma City University and the OCU soccer program, just in a different capacity," Paul said. "I can't thank Coach Martin enough for giving me a scholarship opportunity and now my first college coaching opportunity."
Prior to his OCU career, Paul took all-region acclaim at Rose State in Midwest City, Okla., while contributing three assists and three points during his time there.
In 2022, OCU went 10-7-1 in men's play and 11-4-4 in women's competition.
