BROOKINGS, S.D. – Oklahoma City University brought relay teams with elite times run this season to the NAIA men's indoor track & field championships this weekend at the Sanford Jackrabbit Athletic Complex.
The Stars return to the scene of their 2022 national championship, the first men's indoor track & field team title by Oklahoma City ever. On March 5, 2022, OCU's six runners earned three individual national titles and 12 all-American honors.
Oklahoma City's Fares Marrouf, Tate Smithhart and Milan Todorovic delivered a national-title finish in the distance medley relay last year. Those three plus David Boulanger, Alexander Daly and Brendan Robeaux aim to defend the Stars' national crown in that event after posting a time of 10 minutes, 2.30 seconds, which rates as the third best mark in the NAIA this season, on Feb. 3 in the Washburn Open.
Boulanger, Marrouf, Robeaux, Smithhart, Todorovic and Halen Biggs came up with the second fastest mark in the 4x800-meter relay of 7:42.26 on Jan. 21 in the NAIA JUCO Challenge at Pittsburg, Kan.
Todorovic, a senior from Belgrade, Serbia, studying computer science, turned in a time of 1:51.76 in the 800 meters to rank No. 6 this season among the NAIA. All seven of OCU's competitors this weekend are entered in multiple events.
