OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University dropped a 7-3 decision to MidAmerica Nazarene (Kan.) on Saturday at Jim Wade Stadium in a clash of top 25-ranked teams in NAIA baseball.
Aiden Alexander and Chad Pike provided OCU with two hits each. The 11th-ranked Stars went to 5-7.
The Stars plated two runs in the first inning. Noah Kang reached home plate on a passed ball, while Felix Chenier-Rondeau came home on Pike's groundout.
Barrett Daniel got hit by pitch with the bases loaded to tack on OCU's third run in the fifth. MidAmerica Nazarene, ranked 12th, scored seven unanswered runs to erase the Stars' 2-0 lead.
Grant Harrison took the loss for OCU after pitching the first 4.1 innings. Frankie Danel threw 2.2 scoreless innings, getting out of a bases-loaded jam in the sixth.
Pike, a senior business administration major from Southampton, N.Y., went 2-for-3 with an RBI, and Aiden Alexander, a freshman exercise science major from Yukon, Okla., was 2-for-3.
Oklahoma City faces Doane (Neb.) in an 11 a.m. doubleheader Sunday at Jim Wade Stadium.
