THE MATCHUP

• Oklahoma City University takes on Mid-America Christian in the Stars' final regular-season men's basketball game
• OCU is playing to host a Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament quarterfinal game Feb. 23. With a win, the Stars could be either the third or fourth seed depending on other results within the league. With a loss, OCU could finish with the No. 4 or 5 seed. The top four seeds get home games in the conference tournament quarterfinals
• The Stars disheveled the Evangel 92-68 on Jan. 14. Brandon Jackson led with 25 points
• OCU's all-time record against the Evangel sits at 21-16
• The Stars sit fifth in the SAC standings so it is a must win if they want to host the opening round in the SAC Tournament  

ABOUT THE STARS

• The Stars come into the game with a record of 15-12, 13-8 SAC
• OCU's last game featured the Stars downing Southwestern Christian 84-70
• OCU beat the Eagles 85-70 in the two teams first game of the season on Jan. 12
• Dravon Clayborn tied his career high with 22 points
• Clayborn averages 11.6 points per game
• OCU led by 10 with 9:53 to go as Avery Jackson sank free throws. They pushed their late lead to as much as 15 with a Jackson 3-pointer. Stars hit their free throws late to seal the victory
• The Stars rank 16th in free throws made per game on the NAIA. They average 15.6 per game at 72 percent on the season
• The Stars came in seventh in the preseason SAC coaches poll. OCU owns 13 SAC regular-season championships and 10 SAC Tournament titles. Oklahoma City has advanced to the NAIA Division I Championship Tournament 25 times all-time and has won six national championships in 1991, 1992, 1994, 1996, 2007 and 2008
 
ABOUT THE EVANGELS

• Mid-America Christian holds a 11-16, 8-13 record
• The Evangels are coming off a 101-96 overtime loss to John Brown (Ark.)
• 10 players scored over 10 points in the offense heavy contest
• Seth Hurd led MACU with a career high 30 points
• Hurd averages 11.3 points per game
• The Evangel rank 14th in offensive rebounds per game with a 12.3 per game average in the NAIA

MEET THE COACHES
 
Mark Berokoff (second year at OCU, 31-27)
 
• Mark Berokoff directed Oklahoma City to a 17-14 record in his first season as the Stars' head coach. The Stars collected the No. 3 seed in the SAC Tournament and earned their most conference wins since 2009-10 with a 15-7 mark 
• Berokoff directed Randall to three national championships and a national runner-up showing in nine years as head coach of the Saints. Berokoff led Randall to a 147-122 mark. Randall annually squared off with SAC teams and knocked off OCU twice in that span  
• Berokoff produced five national player of the year honorees, 16 all-Americans, three national tournament outstanding player award winners and one scholar all-American with Randall. Berkoff became two-time national coach of the year and achieved 400 career wins against Central Christian earlier this year
• Berokoff's coaching career spans the high school, college and professional levels. His combined head-coaching record over 20 years in the college and prep ranks was 389-213 entering the 2022-23 season
