John Brown hands OCU 70-46 decision in conference opener

SILOAM SPRINGS, ARK. - The Oklahoma City women's basketball team opened up Sooner Athletic Conference play on the road at John Brown as the Stars struggled shooting the basketball as the Golden Eagles ran away with a 70-46 victory on Tuesday night.

Oklahoma City (1-4, 0-1) dropped its fourth straight game in the Sooner Athletic Conference opener as the Stars failed to score in the final five minutes of the first quarter. John Brown (4-3, 1-0) fell behind 2-0 to start the game which ended up being the only time the Golden Eagles trailed all evening.

JBU displayed a resilient defensive performance by holding the Stars to single digits in the first three quarters while causing Oklahoma City to shoot a discouraging 28.1% from the field and 17.6% from three-point range.

Oklahoma City had a strong performance inside, scoring 25 of its 46 points in the paint. OCU also saw 22 points come from the bench as Myracle Washington stepped in to lead the bench in scoring with 10 points with one three-pointer while going a perfect 3-3 from the foul line.
