OKLAHOMA CITY - The OCU women's soccer team secure a big conference victory over SAGU as a pair of goals in each half send the Stars on to a 2-1 win.

First Half
The Stars began the contest with three shots on-goal in the first 20 minutes of play, two of which came from McLain Moss and one from Reese Roberts. However, the goalkeeper of SAGU Zoe Boldt was there to save all three attempts. In the 22nd minute of play, Oklahoma City got on the board as Abby Russell netted her team-leading ninth goal of the season on an assist from McLain Moss. SAGU was left scoreless in the first half after having two shots on goal with three total attempts. OCU took a lead of 1-0 into the locker room after the first forty-five minutes of play.
Second Half
Oklahoma City has been a strong second-half team all season long and the Stars were able to extend their lead as Roberts was awarded a free kick from just inside the midfield stripe that was sent into the box and through the SAGU defenders only to be picked up by the foot of Piper Nichols who sent it into the net to give OCU a 2-0 lead. SAGU was able to answer back as Stephanie Hernandez, the third-highest scorer in the conference cashed in her 15th goal of the season. OCU came close to striking another goal but could not finish it home. The stellar defense of Oklahoma City stepped up once again in the late part of the match as the Stars only allowed one more shot on goal in the final 30 minutes of action as OCU secured a 2-1 victory.
GAME NOTES
- Oklahoma City took 16 shots with 11 on-goal making it the third most on-goal attempts the Stars have taken this season. SAGU was held 12 shots with six on-goal while only getting three shots in the first half.
- Abby Russell extended her team lead in goals scored to nine after her make in the first half. Russell's goal makes it the third straight match she has scored in while Russell has also scored a goal or assisted on a goal in six of the last eight games.
- OCU defender Piper Nichols cashed in her first goal of the season after sinking one home on a free kick from Reese Roberts. Nichols notched the game-winning goal in the 58th minute of play.
- The Oklahoma City defense was put out on Display yet again as the Stars only gave up one goal to the league's top-scoring team. The defense has been solid as the Stars have allowed one goal or less in six of the last seven games.
- OCU keeps its streak of goals allowed going against SAGU as the Stars have never given up more than one goal against the Lions dating back to when the series began in 2013.
- Oklahoma City earned its seventh straight victory over SAGU and moved the all-time series to 12-1 in favor of the Stars.
