• OCU travels to McPherson, Kan., to face Central Christian (Kan.), seeking
Mark Berokoff's 400th head coaching victory.
• Berokoff holds a career record of 399-223 in his 21st season as a head coach. Berokoff's college head-coaching record stands at 174-146 in his 11th season, while his high school mark was 225-77 in 10 years.
• OCU leads 9-2 all-time in the series against Central Christian. The Stars have won four straight against the Tigers, including a 74-64 victory on Dec. 3 at Abe Lemons Arena.

- OCU challenged the third-ranked (NAIA) Langston Lions on Thursday night before falling 72-67.
- The Lions sank eight free throws in the final 1:36 to clinch the victory. The game featured nine ties and six lead changes. OCU led 30-28 at the half.
- Parker Jones had his best game of the season, supplying 15 points and eight rebounds off the bench. Jones, a sophomore from Russellville, Ky, studying Business Administration, is averaging 7.2 points per game.
- Avery Jackson, the Stars leading scorer, averages 17.4 points per game.
- OCU ranks 25th in defensive rebounds per game in the NAIA, averaging 28.9 boards a game.
- The Stars came in seventh in the preseason SAC coach's poll. OCU owns 13 SAC regular-season championships and 10 SAC Tournament titles. Oklahoma City has advanced to the NAIA Division I Championship Tournament 25 times all-time and has won six national championships in 1991, 1992, 1994, 1996, 2007 and 2008

- The Tigers enter Saturday's contest losing eight of their last ten games with one of the wins by forfeit.

MEET THE COACHES
Mark Berokoff (second season with OCU, 27-24)

Mark Berokoff directed Oklahoma City to a 17-14 record in his first season as the Stars' head coach. The Stars earned the No. 3 seed in the SAC Tournament after racking up their most conference wins since 2009-10 with a 15-7 mark.
• Berokoff led Randall to three national championships and a national runner-up showing in nine years as head coach of the Saints. Berokoff led Randall to a 147-122 mark. Randall annually squared off with SAC teams and knocked off OCU twice in that span.
• Berokoff produced five national player of the year honorees, 16 all-Americans, three national tournament outstanding player award winners and one scholar all-American with Randall. Berkoff was a two-time national coach of the year.
• Berokoff's coaching career spans the high school, college and professional levels. His combined head-coaching record over 20 years in the college and prep ranks was 389-213 entering the 2022-23 season.
Tony Romero (249-198, 14th season with CCCK)
• Romero notched his 200th career win on Oct. 31, 2020, in a 93-61 victory over Calvary (Mo.) in McPherson, Kan.
• Romero took over as Central Christian's head coach for the 2009-10 season after spending the previous five seasons on the Tigers' bench as an assistant.
• Romero played at CCCK from 2000-04 where he earned an all-conference selection from the Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference as a senior.
• An Oklahoma City native, Romero graduated from Del City High School in 2000.
