SAN ANTONIO – Oklahoma City University tied Our Lady of the Lake (Texas) 2-2 on Saturday at OLLU Field.
OCU (5-1-2) scored twice early in the first period, and defense prevented the loss. Our Lady of the Lake knotted the contest in the 81st minute.
Millie Templeman started the scoring off in the ninth minute after the goalkeeper failed to fall on a previous shot.
Madi Caputo gathered it and dished it to Templeman for the assist. The goal would be Templeman's second of the year, and the assist by Caputo would be her team-leading ninth. Caputo also had two shots on goal for the game.
The scoring picked up again with a goal by
April Hill in the 28th minute with an assist being credited to
Abby Russell. The goal would be Hill's ninth to tie her with
Sofia Carvajal Granados for the team lead. The assist by Russell would be her first on the year.
The Stars allowed two goals in the second period. Kaitlyn Olivas came through in the 46th minute, and Ambree Rheinberger delivered the tying goal in the 81st. OCU posted 10 shots, five in each period with seven coming on goal.
Irene Gonzalez finished with three saves for Oklahoma City.
The Stars' next matchup is set for 6 p.m. Tuesday against Kansas Wesleyan in Salina, Kan.
