VICTORIA, Texas – Oklahoma City University fell short to Houston-Victoria 2-1 on Thursday at The Cage.
OCU took its second loss on the season to bring its record to 5-2.
John Woodhead, a senior from Newcastle, England, accounted for the Stars' goal.
Harvey Paul was credited with the assist.
The Stars had nine shots Thursday. Woodhead scored late in the 87th minute. The goal would bring his total up to seven to lead OCU.
In the first half the Stars had a total of four shots with two coming on goal. In the second half they had four more shots with all four getting saved by Houston-Victoria's goalkeeper Tyler Kappeli. In total, the Stars had seven shots on goal.
Danilo Vilani got the start at goalkeeper for the Stars and allowed two goals with five saves. His season total for saves was brought up to 22.
The Stars are on the road again with their next matchup coming at 3:30 p.m. Saturday against Our Lady of the Lake (Texas) in San Antonio.
