OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University defeated Jarvis Christian (Texas) on Thursday night by a score of 2-1 in a rainy women's soccer match at Brian Harvey Field.
April Hill posted the winning goal and an assist for the Stars. Oklahoma City moved to 3-0 on the year.
Rain gradually picked up as the evening wore on. The match started off with two early goals by the Stars.
McLain Moss got her first goal of the season at the 2:30 mark coming off an assist from Hill. At this point in the game the conditions were adequate as the Stars would score again four minutes later with Hill getting the goal. It was her second goal on the season.
Jarvis Christian's only goal would come just five minutes later when Gabriela Benavides lobbed a ball over the head of goalkeeper Irene Gonzalez. That was all the action for the night.
OCU ended with a total of 27 shots, 16 of them on goal. Gonzalez, a freshman from Oklahoma City, made three saves.
The Stars will take on Baker (Kan.) for their next matchup at 6 p.m. Sunday at Brian Harvey Field.
