OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University's women's soccer team completed the shutout of Randall 11-0 on Tuesday at Brian Harvey Field.
Sofia Carvajal Granados continued her hot streak to the season as she scored the Stars' first four goals of the season. She notched a hat trick in the first 15 minutes of this match to lead OCU (3-0).
Her first goal came in the fifth minute off an assist by McLain Moss. She scored just four minutes later when she followed up a deflect off the cross bar for a goal. Her third goal was in the 15th minute, unassisted.
April Hill got her first goal of the season off a perfect corner kick by Sydney Hawkins that Hill headed in. Substitutions came early on in the first period highlighted by goals from senior Madi Caputo and freshman Saizlee Carlton in the 30th minute. Both were their first goals of the season and Saizlee's first of her collegiate career.
Granados got her fourth goal of the 12 minutes into the second period with Millie Templeman getting the assist. Junior Bryanna Gramajo scored off a rebound in the 74th minute. Shortly after Saizlee collected her second goal of the game and freshman Abby Russell got her first. Both assists went to Caputo giving her one goal and eventually three assists coming off the bench.
Sydney Hawkins notched the last goal on the night, assisted by Caputo in the 80th minute. Irene Gonzales was not heard from tonight as she barely even had to move from her goalkeeper spot. She ended with zero saves and zero goals allowed.
The Stars' next matchup will be 5 p.m. Thursday against Jarvis Christian (Texas) at Brian Harvey Field.
