OKLAHOMA CITY – No. 5 ranked Oklahoma City University improved to 30-3 with a non-conference doubleheader sweep over Bacone College on Saturday afternoon at Jim Wade Stadium.

OCU wrapped up a four-game sweep over the Warriors with a 14-0 win in game one and a 19-5 win in the series finale.

The Stars finished with 16 hits in the opener with 10 players contributing to that total. Leading the offensive charge were senior second baseman
Noah Barks, who finished with three hits and three RBIs, and senior first baseman
Peyton Crispin, who contributed three hits and four RBIs.

Crispin got the scoring started with a RBI single in the first inning before Barks pushed the lead to 3-0 with a two-RBI single in the second inning.

Dylan Taylor contributed two hits and two RBIs for the Stars. His two-RBI single in the third inning pushed the lead to 5-0.

Tanner Sparks (4-1) earned the win after allowing no runs on one hit, a first inning single, with nine strikeouts and no walks in 4.2 innings of work. Freshman

Cade Stephens leading the way with three hits. Sophomore shortstop

Cross Factor each finished with three RBIs.

OCU scored in a variety of ways in building a 9-2 lead after three innings, including a two-RBI double by Pike.

Bacone scored three runs in the top of the fourth inning, two of them on wild pitches, to cut the margin to 9-5 before OCU responded with a seven-run bottom of the fourth to put the game away.

Grant Harrison (3-0) earned the win in a relief role. He entered the game with the bases loaded and no outs in the fourth inning. Those inherited runners would score but Harrison claimed the win with no hits allowed with five strikeouts and two walks in 1.1 innings worked.
