OKLAHOMA CITY – Powered by eight home runs from five different players, Oklahoma City University swept Wayland Baptist in the Sooner Athletic Conference opener for both teams on Friday afternoon at Jim Wade Stadium.

OCU (16-1, 2-0 SAC) won the opener 8-2 before posting a 17-3 knockout win in the finale.

WBU (13-5, 0-2 SAC) took a quick 2-0 lead in the opener before senior center fielder
Cross Factor cut the deficit to 2-1 with a solo shot to left center field in the bottom of the first inning.

Felix Chenier-Rondeau pushed the Stars to a 4-2 lead with a two-run homerun in the second inning and a RBI double in the fourth inning.

After Chenier-Rondeau's double, OCU capped off its scoring in the fourth inning with a two RBI double from senior catcher
Dylan Taylor and a 2-RBI home run by sophomore shortstop
Chad Pike.

Tanner Schoeninger (4-0) earned the win after allowing two runs (one earned) on six hits with six strikeouts and two walks in a seven-inning complete game effort.

Wayland Baptist took a 1-0 led in the top of the first of game two before Factor blasted his second home run of the night in the bottom of that frame to even the score.

OCU hit two homers in a five-run second inning to take a 8-2 lead, with senior first baseman
Peyton Crispin delivering a two-run shot and junior right fielder
Jesse Fonteboa delivering a solo shot.

The Stars scored seven runs on two hits and two Pioneer errors in the third inning with the big shot being a three-run homer by Crispin.

Factor hit his third home run of the evening and 11th of the season in the sixth inning to push the lead to 17-3.

Jacob Wright (2-0) earned the win after allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits with seven strikeouts and no walks in six innings of work. Sophomore
Anthony Kopecky contributed a perfect seventh inning in his first outing of the season.

OCU and WBU will conclude the series with a single game tomorrow. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
