Stars Fall to Wayland Baptist in SAC Play

PLAINVIEW, Texas – Wayland Baptist defeated Oklahoma City University 94-64 in Sooner Athletic Conference action on Saturday afternoon at Hutcherson Center on the WBU campus. The Flying Queens entered the game as the No. 12 ranked team in NAIA women's basketball.
 
WBU (23-3, 14-3 SAC) had its best shooting performance of the season in the win, making 37 of 65 (56.9%) field goal attempts. Senior forward Kaylee Edgemon finished with a team-high 35 points and senior guard Angel Hayden contributed a team-high 17 rebounds for the Flying Queens.
 
Three players scored in double-figures for OCU (14-8, 9-8 SAC) with senior guard Erika Ankney leading the way with 18 points. Senior guard Annilia Dawn finished with 13 points and senior center Abby Selzer contributed 11 points and a team-high six rebounds.
 
OCU returns to action on Monday night with a road game at Panhandle State. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
