PLAINVIEW, Texas – Wayland Baptist defeated Oklahoma City University 70-57 in Sooner Athletic Conference action on Saturday afternoon at WBU's Hutcherson Center. The result snapped OCU's five-game winning streak.

OCU (13-11, 12-5 SAC) led 19-11 midway through the first half enroute to a 35-30 halftime lead.

Both teams struggled to get on track in the second half. WBU (13-11, 9-8 SAC) chipped away at the lead, however, taking its first lead of the game at 45-42 on a left side 3-pointer by Jordan Brannon at the 13:37 mark.

The Pioneer lead would expand to 56-45 on a 3-pointer by Javorian Miller at the 9:46 mark. OCU would go 12-4 run at that point, cutting the deficit to 60-57 on a jumper by senior guard
Dravon Clayborn at the 2:22 mark.

That would be as close as the Stars would get with WBU closing out the win with a 10-0 game-ending run. The Stars missed all five field goal attempts during that run.

Clayborn led the Stars with a season-high 16 points. Senior guard
Ryan Birt finished with 12 points and five steals and senior forward
Romario Spence contributed 11 points and a season-high 15 rebounds.

OCU returns to action on Monday night with a road game at Panhandle State. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:45 p.m. at Anchor D Arena at Oscar Williams Field House.
