THE MATCHUP

• Oklahoma City hosts Central Christian (Kan.) in the first of a four-game run of home games for the Stars
• The Stars have won three straight against Central Christian (Kan.) The Stars destroyed the Tigers' in their last meeting 85-56 on Feb. 2, 2022. Rashaun Coleman led with 22 points. The team shot 45.5 from the field
• The Stars' last defeat came in 2018 with a final score of 95-85. They lead the all-time series 8-2  
 
ABOUT THE STARS

• Oklahoma City was outfought by Langston 62-55 in their last game. The Stars (3-6, 1-2 Sooner Athletic Conference) tied the game at 4:21 and trailed by five with 30 seconds left when the Lions sealed the game with a steal
• Kori Guest, a 6-foot-6 senior from Tulsa, Okla., led all with 18 points. He hit five 3's in the game. He is averaging 14.3 points per game and 5.4 rebounds
• Brandon Jackson, a 6-6 junior from Westmont, Calif., provided 15 points and seven rebounds. Jackson is averaging a solid 13.8 points per game and 7.6 rebounds. He also has 11 blocks and is shooting an even .400 percent from deep
• OCU ranks 26th in 3-pointers made per game and 23rd in defensive rebounds per game in NAIA. OCU is seventh in opponents' 3-point percentage holding them to 28.5 percent
• The Stars came in seventh in the preseason SAC coach's poll. OCU owns 13 SAC regular-season championships and 10 SAC Tournament titles. Oklahoma City has advanced to the NAIA Division I Championship Tournament 25 times all time and has won six national championships in 1991, 1992, 1994, 1996, 2007 and 2008   
 
ABOUT THE TIGERS

• The Tigers (3-6, 1-3 SAC) were narrowly beaten in their last game by the JBU Golden Eagles 68-66. They have lost five of their last six
• Reece Warren led the scoring with 23 points shooting 7-for-12 on the game
• The Tigers tried to mount a comeback, but it was too little too late. Warren hit his final 3-pointer as time expired to make the final score 68-66. It was his highest-scoring game of the season
• Warren is averaging 10.8 points per game and shooting 33.9 percent from beyond the arc
• CCCK is ranked 33rd in offensive rebounds per game  
• Central Christian was tabbed with the No. 10 spot in the Sooner Athletic Conference men's basketball preseason poll  
 
ABOUT THE COACHES
 
Mark Berokoff (20-20, second season with OCU)

• Mark Berokoff directed Oklahoma City to a 17-14 record in his first season as the Stars' head coach. The Stars collected the No. 3 seed in the SAC Tournament and earned their most conference wins since 2009-10 with a 15-7 mark 
• Berokoff directed Randall to three national championships and a national runner-up showing in nine years as head coach of the Saints. Berokoff led Randall to a 147-122 mark. Randall annually squared off with SAC teams and knocked off OCU twice in that span  
• Berokoff produced five national player of the year honorees, 16 all-Americans, three national tournament outstanding player award winners and one scholar all-American with Randall. Berkoff became a two-time national coach of the year  
• Berokoff's coaching career spans the high school, college and professional levels. His combined head-coaching record over 20 years in the college and prep ranks was 389-213 entering the 2022-23 season   

Tony Romero (246-190, 14th season with CCCK)

• Notched his 200th career win on Oct. 31, 2020, in a 93-61 victory over Calvary (Mo.) in McPherson, Kan.
• Took over as Central Christian's head coach for the 2009-10 season after spending the previous five seasons on the Tigers' bench as an assistant
• Played at CCCK from 2000-04 where he collected all-conference acclaim from the Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference as a senior
• An Oklahoma City native, Romero graduated from Del City High School in 2000
