Stars wipe out Ozark Christian 94-60

OCU build 37-point lead in win

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University knocked down Ozark Christian (Mo.) 94-60 on Monday evening at Abe Lemons Arena.

Kori Guest and Parker Jones posted 15 points each for the Stars. OCU notched its first victory of the men's basketball season, moving to 1-3.

Jones, a sophomore from Russellville, Ky., put together a double-double with 11 rebounds, three steals and two blocked shots while hitting 6 of 7 shots from the field off the bench. The Stars piled up 49 points from their bench unit.

Guest, a senior from Tulsa, Okla., chipped in six rebounds, two assists and two steals. Avery Jackson, a freshman from Frisco, Texas, totaled 11 points, six rebounds and seven assists for Oklahoma City.

The Stars reached the 90-point mark for the sixth time under coach Mark Berokoff and shot a season-best 48.7 percent from the field. OCU limited Ozark Christian to a 28.6 field-goal percentage and 25.7 shooting from beyond the 3-point line, both season lows for a Stars foe.

Oklahoma City raced out to an 11-1 advantage as Ozark Christian misfired on its first nine shot attempts from the floor. The Stars pushed their lead to 46-24 on Jones' free throw with 33 seconds left in the half, capping a 9-0 run.

John Perry's lay-in grew OCU's advantage to its largest margin of the game 94-57 with a minute remaining.
