Stars make it three shutouts in a row with 3-0 win

Stars dominate offense with 19 shots

WAXAHACHIE, Texas - Oklahoma City University blanked Southwestern Assemblies of God 3-0 for their third straight shutout on the season. The Stars improve to 8-2, 2-0. The Stars goals seemed to come in 30-minute increments with one midway through the first period, one shortly after half time, and the final goal right before the game ended.
 
OCU scored their first goal in the 23rd minute on a goal by Lucas de Freitas to give him the Stars last five goals. The assist went to John Woodhead, who would score later in the match. De Freitas, the senior from Sao Paulo, Brazil, now has eight goals on the year now. The next goal came about 30 minutes later in the 55th minute on a goal by Woodhead which tied him with de Freitas for the team lead with eight. Harvey Paul assisted the goal for his third on the year.
The Stars final goal came courtesy of Sage Trevino with Manuel Belmonte nabbing the assist. Trevino, the freshman from Plano, Texas has three goals now on his freshman campaign. Belmonte's assist was his first on the year.
 
The stars played magnificent defense holding SAGU to just eight shots on the game and four shots on goal. Those four shots were saved by the senior from Goiânia, Brazila, Danilo Vilani. The Stars finished with 11 shots on goal from their 19 shots. The Stars 19 shots is their most since their first game vs. Bethany where they had 20 shots and won 4-1. They also have not allowed a team to score more than two goals on the year while they have score more than two goals in half of their games.
 
OCU heads back home Tuesday at 7 p.m. for a matchup against Central Christian (Kan.) at Brian Harvey Field looking for their fourth shutout in a row.
