OKLAHOMA CITY – Destiny Lyng of Oklahoma City University remained undefeated on the season with a technical-fall victory Wednesday at Abe Lemons Arena.
Fourth-ranked Texas Wesleyan came out on top 31-15 over the Stars in a clash of top 20-ranked NAIA women's wrestling teams.
Lyng rolled to a 10-0 win over Gracie Lafferty in the 143-pound match. Lyng, ranked No. 1 in the NAIA at 143, secured the win with three takedowns in the second period. Lyng, a senior from La Mesa, Calif. improved to 12-0 in 2021-22.
Oklahoma City, ranked 17th, benefited from forfeits at 155 pounds and 191 pounds. OCU competed in a home dual for the first time since Jan. 31, 2020.
The Stars (0-3) host the Oklahoma City Open at 9 a.m. Saturday at Abe Lemons Arena.
