OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University extended its winning streak to four matches with a hard-fought 2-0 non-conference win over Jarvis Christian on Monday afternoon at Brian Harvey Field.
OCU (5-1) scored both of its goals in the first half, with sophomore
Tommaso Belli finding the back of the net in the 8thminute and senior
Ljubisa Palic scoring in the 16th minute. Belli's goal was his eighth of the season, placing him amongst the NAIA scoring leaders.
The Stars kept the shots coming but JCU goalkeeper Pedro Medrano kept it close by finishing with nine saves. OCU finished with a 11-1 edge in shots on goal, thanks to a typical stingy defensive effort by the home team.
OCU has outscored its opponents 14-3 during the four-match winning streak with two shoutouts. The Stars have allowed two goals or more in only two matches this season.
OCU returns to action on Thursday for a non-conference game at Bacone College. First kick is scheduled for 4 p.m.
