OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University held off Houston-Victoria 3-2 on Tuesday at Brian Harvey Field.
Bailey Webb came up with the eventual winning goal for Oklahoma City. The Stars improved to 5-0 in women's soccer.
Webb, a senior from Oklahoma City, fired the goal in off the right post to put the Stars on top 3-1 in the 70th minute. Lyndsey Speer, a senior from Stillwater, Okla., provided the assist.
Webb scored twice Tuesday for the first time in her OCU career. She had the first goal of the day in the 22nd minute using assists from Sofia Carvajal Granados and Madi Caputo. Granados reversed the ball to Caputo, who set up Webb for the goal. Webb knocked the ball off the goalkeeper's hands into the goal.
In the 29th minute, Caputo intercepted the ball in the Houston-Victoria half and made an attack on the goal. Caputo, a junior from Broken Arrow, Okla., finished off the effort for a 2-0 OCU advantage.
Josie Knox, a junior from Edmond, Okla., recorded three saves in the first half, while Abigail Banks, a junior from Sand Springs, Okla., made two saves in the second period for the Stars. Houston-Victoria had a 12-7 shot advantage.
Oklahoma City faces John Brown (Ark.) at 1 p.m. Saturday in Siloam Springs, Ark.
