Stars take first loss of season to John Brown

John Brown becomes first conference opponent to score on OCU in 2020-21

SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. – Oklahoma City University fell 8-0 to John Brown (Ark.) in a contest between undefeated teams Saturday afternoon at Alumni Field.
John Brown, ranked 16th in NAIA women's soccer, handed the Stars their first loss of the season. John Brown improved to 5-0, 5-0 in the Sooner Athletic Conference, and OCU went to 5-1, 4-1 in league play.
Josie Knox, a junior from Edmond, Okla., picked up 12 saves for the Stars. OCU had shut out its previous four opponents in SAC competition. John Brown had a 29-7 advantage in shots.
Emma Schoenberg scored twice for John Brown. Sienna Carballo had a goal and two assists, while Lauren Walter added three assists.
OCU faces Bacone at 3 p.m. Sunday at Brian Harvey Field.
