OCU registers fourth consecutive whitewash

FORT WORTH, Texas – Oklahoma City University knocked off Texas Wesleyan 1-0 on Saturday at Martin Field.
Madi Caputo provided the lone goal of the match. The Stars remained undefeated on the season at 4-0, 4-0 in Sooner Athletic Conference women's soccer.
Oklahoma City has its first 4-0 start since winning its first eight matches in 2012. The Stars have a 4-0 start to conference play for the first time since going 5-0 to begin SAC play in 2013.
Caputo, a junior from Broken Arrow, Okla., scored unassisted at the 18:02 mark. OCU made Caputo's goal stand as the Stars held Texas Wesleyan to four shots while generating 11 shots of their own. Caputo tallied her first goal of the season and 18th of her career.
Josie Knox made a save in the 67th minute to lead OCU to a fourth consecutive shutout to start the season. Knox, a junior from Edmond, Okla., and the Stars have allowed no goals in 2020-21.
The Stars plays its first non-conference match of the season against Houston-Victoria at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Brian Harvey Field.
