OCU cruises past Texas Wesleyan 3-0

Stars own finest start to conference play since 2009

FORT WORTH, Texas – Oklahoma City University rolled to a 3-0 win over Texas Wesleyan on Saturday night at Martin Field.
The Stars scored all their goals in the second half. Oklahoma City improved to 4-0, 4-0 in Sooner Athletic Conference men's soccer.
OCU owns a 4-0 record to begin the season for the first time since the Stars opened 2017 at 7-0. The Stars have four victories to start league play for the first time since opening SAC play at 4-0 in 2009.
Lucas de Freitas put Oklahoma City on the scoreboard with a goal in the 52nd minute. De Freitas, a junior from São Paulo, Brazil, accrued his seventh goal overall and second winning goal of the season.
Tommaso Belli gave the Stars a 2-0 advantage with a goal in the 53rd minute. John Woodhead provided the assist. Ljubisa Palic posted a goal in the 88th minute for a 3-0 OCU cushion.
Oklahoma City took 13 shots while limiting Texas Wesleyan to two. Danilo Vilani, a junior from Goiânia, Brazil, directed the Stars to their third whitewash in a row.
OCU steps out of SAC play to meet Houston-Victoria at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Brian Harvey Field.
