Stars sail past Panhandle State 4-0

OCU turns in sixth blanking of season

GOODWELL, Okla. – Oklahoma City University cruised to a 4-0 win over Panhandle State on Tuesday at Anchor D Stadium.
Paige Graham, Lyndsey Speer and Hailey Terrell each scored their first goal of the season for OCU. The Stars improved to 8-2, 6-2 in Sooner Athletic Conference women's soccer.
Oklahoma City earned its sixth shutout of the season. Abigail Banks, a junior from Sand Springs, Okla., produced her second whitewash in as many starts at goalkeeper in 2020-21.
OCU generated 25 shots while keeping Panhandle State from taking a shot. The Stars' last opponent to fail to muster a shot was Randall on Sept. 5, 2019 in Oklahoma City.
Madison Kemp provided Oklahoma City a 1-0 lead with a goal in the 30th minute using an assist from McLain Moss. Kemp, a freshman from Moore, Okla., notched her second goal of the season.
In the 40th minute, Speer scored while April Hill distributed the ball to Speer. Speer, a senior from Stillwater, Okla., broke through for the goal after taking OCU's previous two shots in the match.
Terrell, a senior from Austin, Texas, knocked in a goal for a 3-0 Stars advantage in the 56th minute. Annie Bragg booted the ball to Moss via a corner kick, then Moss set up Terrell for the goal.
Graham, a junior from El Reno, Okla., scored unassisted in the 77th minute for the final margin.
OCU closes out the regular season 5 p.m. Saturday against USAO at Brian Harvey Field.
