OCU slips past Panhandle State 2-1

Stars strike for two second-half goals

GOODWELL, Okla. – Ljubisa Palic came through with the winning goal in the 89th minute in Oklahoma City University's 2-1 victory over Panhandle State on Tuesday at Anchor D Stadium.
Palic scored at the 88:15 mark to bring the Stars the win. Oklahoma City went to 6-2-2, 5-2-1 in Sooner Athletic Conference men's soccer.
Palic, a junior from St. Gallen, Switzerland, rallied OCU with two second-half goals. Palic supplied the Stars the equalizing goal in the 60th minute. Jusung Kang, a junior from Dae Jeon, South Korea, set up Palic on both goals. Palic registered the third two-goal performance of his OCU career.
The Stars forged a 14-10 advantage in shots. OCU took 10 shots in the second period. Vicente Tellos had the Panhandle State goal in the 26th minute.
Danilo Vilani snagged five saves for the Stars. Vilani, a junior from Goiânia, Brazil, made a save in the 80th minute to keep the score level at 1-1.
The Stars finish the regular season with a 7 p.m. contest Saturday vs. USAO at Brian Harvey Field.
