OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University prevailed over Southwestern Christian 4-2 on Saturday evening at Brian Harvey Field.
Sofia Carvajal Granados posted two goals and two assists for the Stars. Oklahoma City moved to 7-2, 5-2 in Sooner Athletic Conference women's soccer.
Granados, a junior from Bogota, Colombia, broke a 1-1 deadlock by firing in a penalty-kick goal in the 22nd minute. Granados knocked the ball into the right corner of the net as the goalkeeper went left.
In the 72nd minute, Granados converted off Annie Bragg's indirect free kick. Bragg booted the ball from 30 yards out into the penalty box, where Granados scored for a 3-1 OCU advantage.
The Stars added an insurance goal in the 89th minute. April Hill cleared the ball to Granados, who dribbled with the ball to the penalty area, then passed back to Hill, who pounded the ball into the net.
Madi Caputo scored the contest's first goal using Granados' assist in the 11th minute.
Josie Knox, a junior from Edmond, Okla., notched two saves, both to maintain OCU's 2-1 lead.
The Stars take on Panhandle State at 5 p.m. Tuesday in Goodwell, Okla.
