WAXAHACHIE, Texas – Oklahoma City University shut out Southwestern Assemblies of God (Texas) 2-0 on Tuesday afternoon at SAGU Field.
Sofia Carvajal Granados gave OCU a 1-0 lead with a goal at the 9:15 mark. The Stars moved to 3-0, 3-0 in Sooner Athletic Conference women's soccer.
The Stars peppered Southwestern Assemblies of God with 48 shots while limiting the Lady Lions to nine shots. In the 10th minute, Granados, a junior from Bogota, Colombia, scored thanks to an assist by Paige Graham.
McLain Moss, a freshman from Tulsa, Okla., provided OCU with its second goal of the day. Madi Caputo, a junior from Broken Arrow, Okla., set up McLain for the score in the 46th minute.
Oklahoma City notched its third whitewash of the season in as many matches. Josie Knox, a junior from Edmond, Okla., opened the contest in goal and posted one save. Abigail Banks, a junior from Sand Springs, Okla., completed the shutout while registering five saves in the second half.
The Stars face Texas Wesleyan at 5 p.m. Saturday in Fort Worth, Texas.
