SILOAM SPRINGS, Ark. – Oklahoma City University dropped a 3-1 decision to John Brown (Ark.) on Saturday afternoon at Alumni Field.
Lucas de Freitas supplied OCU with its goal. The Stars picked up their first setback in Sooner Athletic Conference men's play this season, going to 4-1-1, 4-1 in the SAC.
De Freitas, a junior from Sao Paulo, Brazil, fired in the Stars' goal in the 83rd minute. De Freitas took his shot from 12 yards into the left side of the net. Harvey Paul, a junior from Bristol, England, reeled in the assist after feeding de Freitas in the midfield.
Oklahoma City generated 29 shots while keeping John Brown to 14 of its own. Twelve of the Stars' shots were on goal. Ljubisa Palic topped OCU with eight shots.
Danilo Vilani, a junior from Goiânia, Brazil, collected six saves for OCU. The Stars had shut out their past four opponents.
The Stars return to Brian Harvey Field to meet Bacone at 5 p.m. Sunday.
