Stars derail Wayland Baptist 3-0

Granados supplies OCU with two goals

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University blanked Wayland Baptist (Texas) 3-0 on Saturday at Brian Harvey Field.
The Stars scored all three of their goals in the second half. Oklahoma City improved to 2-0, 2-0 in Sooner Athletic Conference women's soccer.
April Hill broke the scoreless tie with an unassisted goal in the 48th minute. Hill, a junior from Portsmouth, Petersfield, England, tallied the first goal of her OCU career.
Sofia Carvajal Granados tacked on two more goals for the Stars. Granados, a junior from Bogota, Colombia, scored unassisted in the 74th minute. OCU went up 3-0 in the 75th minute on Granados' goal with an assist from McLain Moss.
Josie Knox grabbed four saves for the Stars. Knox, a junior from Edmond, Okla., made three saves in the second half including two to protect OCU's 1-0 advantage after Hill's goal.
Oklahoma City rang up 15 shots to Wayland Baptist's five. The Stars dealt Wayland Baptist (3-1) its first loss of the season.
The Stars visit Southwestern Assemblies of God (Texas) for a 1 p.m. match Tuesday in Waxahachie, Texas.
