LINDSBORG, Kan. – Oklahoma City University took a 17-9 setback to Bethany (Kan.) on Tuesday at Phillip Anderson Field.
Dalton Reed hit two home runs for the Stars, who smacked four homers. OCU, ranked 16th in NAIA baseball, dropped to 3-4.
Reed, a senior from Roff, Okla., launched a two-run blast in the first inning. In the second, Fredric Walter nailed an RBI single, and Noah Barks drew a bases-loaded walk to put the Stars ahead 4-0.
Oklahoma City plated four runs in the eighth. Reed clouted a three-run homer past the left-field fence. Bryson Lierle nailed a solo shot to left.
Cross Factor accounted for OCU's other homer of the day by leading off the seventh with a solo blast to right.
Reed now has four homers this year. Reed turned in a 3-for-4 day with two runs scored and five runs driven in. Factor, a senior from Yukon, Okla., went 3-for-5 with three runs scored and an RBI, while Barks, a junior from Mustang, Okla., had a 3-for-5 performance with a run scored.
Jacob Wright started on the mound and went to 0-2 on the year.
The Stars take on Mount Mercy (Iowa) at 3 p.m. Friday at Jim Wade Stadium.
