SAN ANTONIO – Oklahoma City University defeated LSU-Alexandria 100-93 in a double-overtime marathon at the Halo Classic on Wednesday afternoon at Mabee Gymnasium, located on the Our Lady of the Lake University campus in west San Antonio.

 OCU (6-1) led by as many as eight points in the first half and 11 points in the second half against LSU-A (0-5). The Stars took their biggest lead of the first half at 38-30 when junior forward
Fiona Wilson knocked down a right side 3-pointer after receiving a cross court pass from senior guard
Annilia Dawn at the 1:33 mark of the second quarter. LSU-A closed the period with a 4-0 run to cut OCU's halftime lead to 38-34.

OCU came out firing in the second half, taking a 50-39 lead on a 3-pointer by Wilson from the left corner at the 7:08 mark of the third quarter. LSU-A answered with an 11-0 run over the next four minutes, tying the score 50-50 on a 3-pointer by Dannah Martin at the 3:19 mark.

The Stars responded with a 7-0 run of their own to take a 57-50 lead before the Generals countered with a 18-7 run to take a 68-64 late fourth quarter lead.

LSU-A's lead stood at 75-70 with under a minute to play before OCU put together one more run. Dawn knocked down a 3-pointer to cut the Generals lead to 75-73 with 34 seconds left in regulation before senior center
Abby Selzer sank two free throws with three seconds remaining to tie the score at 78-78, sending the game to the overtime period.

OCU and LSU-A would exchange two point leads in the first overtime but the game was knotted 87-87 at the end of that period. The Stars finally took control of the game by starting the second overtime with a 7-0 spurt, with Selzer scoring the first five points of that run.

Posting up to the basket, Selzer made two free throws after being fouled at the 4:48 mark of the second overtime before pushing the OCU lead to 92-87 with a lay-up and free throw at the 3:55 mark. Wilson provided the Stars an insurmountable 94-87 lead with a layup at the 2:53 mark of the period.

All five OCU starters scored in double-figures with Selzer leading the way with 27 points and Wilson finishing with 23 points. Dawn and Ankney contributed 18 points apiece and junior guard
Paige Pendley finished with 10 points.

Selzer finished with a team-high 10 rebounds and Dawn contributed a season-high seven assists.

OCU out-shot LSU-A, finishing making 31 of 68 field goal attempts (45.6%) compared to 34 of 82 (41.5%) shots made by the Generals. The Stars had another outstanding game at the free throw line, making 26 of 30 attempts (86.7%).

Today's 100-point effort is OCU's first time to reach that mark since a 104-71 win over Wayland Baptist at the 2018 Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament.
