OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University blanked Panhandle State 2-0 on Tuesday afternoon at Brian Harvey Field.
April Hill provided the Stars with her team-high ninth goal of the season. Oklahoma City improved to 7-3, 2-1 in Sooner Athletic Conference women's soccer.
Hill, a senior from Portsmouth, Petersfield, England, put OCU ahead 1-0 in the 40th minute with her goal. Hill scored from near the net using Ciana Carlton's assist.
Millie Templeman struck for the Stars' second goal of the match in the 52nd minute. Templeman, a senior from Pocklington, York, England, booted in the goal after sweeping up a loose ball within the penalty box. Templeman notched her fifth goal of the year.
Oklahoma City recorded its fourth shutout of the year. The Stars owned a 25-6 advantage in shots and 14-5 in shots on goal. Josie Knox, a senior from Edmond, Okla., collected five saves in the defensive effort.
The Stars' next match takes place 3 p.m. Saturday against Wayland Baptist (Texas) in Plainview, Texas.
