OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University rallied past Southwestern Assemblies of God (Texas) 2-1 on Saturday evening at Brian Harvey Field.
Madison McEwin supplied Oklahoma City with a goal and an assist. The Stars erased a 1-0 deficit while moving to 6-3, 1-1 in Sooner Athletic Conference women's soccer.
OCU evened the match at 1-1 in the 17th minute. McEwin booted the ball off Southwestern Assemblies of God goalkeeper Zoe Boldt's hands and into the net. McEwin, a junior from Owasso, Okla., notched her third goal of the year. April Hill set up McEwin's goal.
In the 72nd minute, Mallorie Lane handed the Stars the lead for the first time on the day. Lane, a senior from Choctaw, Okla., knocked the ball past Boldt and off her back for the goal. Lane delivered her third goal of the season, while McEwin made the assist.
In the 82nd minute, Jimena Martinez smacked a ball off the crossbar. OCU owned advantages of 24-1 in shots on goal and 40-5 in shots.
Alexis Roman scored to give Southwestern Assemblies of God the early lead in the seventh minute.
The Stars square off with Panhandle State at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Brian Harvey Field.
