DES MOINES, Iowa – Eighth-ranked Bellevue (Neb.) defeated Oklahoma City University in four sets (18-25, 25-21, 25-18, 25-18) in opening day action of the Grand View Tournament on Friday afternoon.

OCU (12-7) scored the last four points in the opening set win. That run started when senior
Kenady Bertling found the floor with a lightly tapped ball over the net to give the Stars a 22-18 lead.

The second set was tied 20-20 before Bellevue (17-5) went on a 5-1 run to even the match. The Stars held leads in the third set (13-12) and fourth set (7-5) against the Bruins.

Ella Lofton chipping in with 11 kills. Freshman
Josie Thomas led the team with 16 digs with senior
Sophia Salak leading the way with 40 assists and senior
Olivia Nutter finishing with a team-high three blocks.

OCU will play two tournament games on Saturday. The Stars will face Trinity Christian (Ill.) at 10 a.m. and host Grand View at 1 p.m.
