OCU's Tarpley scoops up SAC scholar-athlete honor

Redshirt freshman from Pollock, La., gains recognition for academic accomplishments

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University's Sam Tarpley snared Sooner Athletic Conference scholar-athlete acclaim.
Tarpley, a redshirt freshman from Pollock, La., became one of nine men's golfers from around the league to pick up the honor. Tarpley has achieved a 3.76 cumulative grade-point average studying economics & finance.
The conference awards the SAC scholar-athlete to those student-athletes who are juniors or above in academic standing with at least a 3.5 cumulative grade-point average, appear on the eligibility certificate for an NAIA-recognized sport and have attended two full years as a non-transfer or one full year as a transfer.
