No. 1-ranked Stars have advanced to past five conference tournament title games

THE MATCHUP
• Top-ranked Oklahoma City University locks horns with Mid-America Christian in the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament semifinals
• Oklahoma City will strive to reach the SAC Tournament championship game for the sixth consecutive year and 19th time overall
• OCU looks to notch its 14th 30-win season. OCU already owns its 21st 25-win season in 22 years and 22nd 20-win season in a row. OCU's record since 1998-99 stands at 676-88 (.885 winning percentage)
• USAO and Wayland Baptist (Texas) meet in the other tournament semifinal 3 p.m. Friday. Wayland Baptist hosts the conference tournament for the first time
 
ABOUT THE STARS
• The Stars ousted Langston 69-47 in the SAC Tournament quarterfinals Tuesday night at Abe Lemons Arena. Oklahoma City (29-1) held Langston to 1-for-13 shooting from the field to begin the game
Mallory Lockhart, a 5-foot-8 sophomore from Keller, Texas, boosted OCU with 15 points, three assists and a team-high five steals. Lockhart, a second-team all-SAC performer, sank four treys to increase her Oklahoma City single-season record to 114 3-pointers. Lockhart turns in 14.6 points, 1.8 assists and 1.27 steals per game
Abby Selzer, a 6-2 sophomore from Thomas, Okla., collected 15 points and six rebounds. OCU has had 15 women's basketball student-athletes become SAC player of the year and eight of the past nine honorees. Selzer powers the Stars with 17.7 points and 6.6 rebounds a contest with a 63.5 percent field-goal percentage
• OCU leads NAIA Division I with a 79.8 free-throw shooting percentage. Lockhart tops the nation in treys and 3-pointers per game (3.80). To see how the Stars rate among NAIA Division I statistically, click here
• Oklahoma City held the No. 1 ranking for the third consecutive NAIA Division I poll. The Stars collected all nine No. 1 votes and 219 points to hold the top spot for the 53rd instance all-time. Oklahoma City has been in the rankings for 260 polls in a row dating back to 1997-98 to lead NAIA Division I
• The Stars took their 20th SAC regular-season championship last season. OCU has won or shared the last four SAC regular-season crowns and 10 of the last 11 league titles, going 239-23 (.912 winning percentage) within SAC play since 2007-08
• OCU has clinched its 26th trip, with 23 consecutive appearances, to the NAIA Division I Championship Tournament by taking the conference's qualifying berth that goes to its regular-season champion. OCU has captured nine national championships in 1988, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2012, 2014, 2015 and 2017 and comes off its fourth national runner-up finish in 2019
• The Stars have gone 29-0 against Mid-America Christian in program history
• OCU rolled to an 88-51 victory over Mid-America on Feb. 20 at the Gaulke Activity Center in Oklahoma City. Selzer tallied 23 points and 11 rebounds
 
ABOUT THE EVANGELS
• Mid-America Christian held onto an 80-75 win over Texas Wesleyan on Tuesday in Oklahoma City. Fourth-seeded Mid-America (21-10) built an early 14-0 advantage en route to moving on to the SAC Tournament semifinals for the fifth time ever
• Alexis Shannon, a 5-11 senior, had 28 points and seven rebounds. She became a three-time first-team all-SAC choice. Shannon averages 20.3 points and 7.7 rebounds per game
• The Evangels rank fourth in the NAIA with 1,331 offensive rebounds this season

MEET THE COACHES
Bo Overton (144-23, fifth season with OCU)
• Led Stars to a 33-5 season with the SAC regular-season crown and an NAIA Division I Tournament championship trip in 2018-19
• Overton has coached four all-Americans while at OCU, including Daniela Wallen, the 2017 NAIA DI player of the year, and Daniela Galindo, the 2018 WBCA NAIA player of the year
• Overton served as an assistant coach for the Chinese national team in the 2012 Olympic games
• From 1998-2004, Overton served as an assistant for Oklahoma. The Sooners made five NCAA Tournament appearances during that time, with a 2002 NCAA runner-up finish and Final Four berth. He also earned three Big 12 regular-season titles and two conference tournament championships throughout his six years
• Overton collected his 150th career win coaching women's college basketball 85-70 over Southwestern Assemblies of God on Jan. 11 in Waxahachie, Texas. He has a 166-70 mark (.703 winning percentage) in seven years as a head women's basketball coach
• Overton landed his first ever whoopdirt.com coach of the week honor during the week of Jan. 13-19

Hannah Moeller (198-70, fourth season with Mid-America)
• Moeller has enjoyed a great deal of success in her head coaching career, having led Mid-America Christian to two NCCAA National Titles and NCCAA tournament appearances in each of her three seasons on the MACU bench
• She has piloted MACU to at least 23 wins in each of her three seasons at the helm, setting program records for single-season victories in each of the three campaigns
• Was named NCCAA Division I National Coach of the Year after winning the National Championships in both 2018 and 2019
• Served as head coach, and prior to that associate head coach, at Hillsdale Freewill Baptist from 2011-12 through 2015-16. She also served as an assistant at MACU in 2010-11
• Played for Rogers State University in Claremore, Okla. from 2007-09, earning NAIA scholar-athlete and RSU female student-athlete of the year honors in 2009
