Junior hits NAIA B standard for second straight meet

OKLAHOMA CITY - Oklahoma City University's Marquania Rowell took the field honor among this week's Sooner Athletic Conference women's track & field women's athletes of the week.
Rowell, a junior from Opelika, Ala., earned the award by reaching the NAIA B standard in the high jump for the second time in 2020.
Rowell met the B standard for the NAIA indoor championships by clearing 5 feet, 5¼ inches (1.66 meters) in the high jump on Saturday at the Pittsburg State (Kan.) Invitational. She had previously hit the B standard in the high jump with her season-best mark of 5-5¾ on Jan. 18.
Rowell and the Stars will be back in action in Norman, Oklahoma on Saturday, Feb. 8 at the J.D. Martin Invitational. The even, hosted by the University of Oklahoma, is the third of six events on the OCU Indoor schedule.
