OCU drops 76-70 decision to USAO

Stars regain lead with 4:08 left

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City University fell to USAO 76-70 on Saturday at Abe Lemons Arena.
Rashaun Coleman propelled the Stars with 21 points, seven rebounds and two assists. Oklahoma City went to 14-14, 6-12 in Sooner Athletic Conference men's basketball.
Coleman, a junior from Houston, reached 20 points for the second time in three outings. Eddie Smith, a freshman from Birmingham, Ala., rang up 13 points.
Anthony Davis, a senior from Lewisville, Texas, grabbed a team-high eight rebounds while blocking a season-best three shots for the Stars.
Elie Ghomsi and Smith downed 3-pointers to give OCU its largest lead of the day 26-19 with 6:12 remaining in the first half.
The Drovers took the lead 33-32 as Stephon Hall hit a 3-pointer to start the second half.
The Stars hung close until Davis put OCU on top 63-62 with a bucket at the 4:08 mark of the second period. USAO answered with a 7-0 run as Dylan Causwell sank a pair of free throws and a basket.
Coleman cut OCU's deficit to 71-68 with 21 seconds to go, but USAO hit 7 of 8 free-throw tries in the final 26 seconds.
Oklahoma City takes on Wayland Baptist (Texas) at 7:45 p.m. Thursday in Plainview, Texas.
