Stars show offensive firepower vs. Randall

OCU found the net six times in the shutout

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma City University women's soccer team won its home opener 6-0 over Randall on Thursday night at Brian Harvey Field.
The Stars are now 2-1 to begin the year, while Randall dropped to 0-5 on the season. The win marks Brian Harvey's 802nd career win at Oklahoma City.
All six goals came from six different OCU players. Seniors Rebekah Brantley, Kalen Castor and Jessica Titsworth along with junior Hailey Terrell added goals in the first half. Senior forward Rachel Brantley and junior midfielder Bailey Webb both got on the scoreboard in the second half. Titsworth netted her second goal of the year while all five other Stars added their first of the year.
The Stars ended up with a season-high 49 shots, booting 15 on goal. This marks the most shots recorded by OCU since also finishing with 49 versus on Bacone Sept. 27, 2016.
Rebekah Brantley initiated the scoring with an unassisted goal at the 20:09 mark of the first half, scoring off a rebound after Webb had a shot blocked. Terrell launched the Stars' second goal at the 38:02 mark on a 40-yard free kick that went through everybody to find the back of the net. The rocket was the junior defender's first career goal for OCU.
A minute later, Castor tapped in her first goal of the season at 39:51 using an assist from Rebekah Brantley. Rebekah Brantley and Lyndsey Speer both assisted Titsworth on another late first half goal at 43:26.
Rachel Brantley got on the scorecard in the 63rd minute on Webb, perfectly placed a 25-yard shot into the corner of the goal.
Webb added a tap-in right in front of the goal in the 84th minute off assists from Speer and Aubrey Armstrong.
Nadine Steiner, Kristina Patterson and Abigail Banks combined for a shutout and four saves. Patterson and Banks both made their first appearances of the year during the second half. Randall goalkeeper, Madi Harris, registered nine saves on the night.
The Stars will go on the road to face Oklahoma Wesleyan at 6 p.m. Sept. 12 in Bartlesville, Okla.
