Pierce to take court for OCU

Senior from Garber, Okla., joined Stars last season

OKLAHOMA CITY – Andi Pierce will be ready to play basketball at Oklahoma City University in 2019-20 after redshirting last season with the Stars.
Pierce, a 5-foot-10 guard from Garber, Okla., transferred to OCU from Omaha. She previously became an all-region choice at Northern-Enid.
Pierce posted 15.8 points and 5.9 rebounds while leading Northern-Enid to a 25-6 record. Pierce reeled in first-team all-NJCAA Region II honors for coach Scott Morris.
Pierce began her collegiate career at Western Illinois in 2016-17, appearing in 13 games in reserve for the Fighting Leathernecks.
At Garber High School, Pierce averaged 21.7 points per game along with nine rebounds during her senior season.  She shot 44 percent from the field, 40 percent from 3-point range and 87 percent at the line.  Pierce was a member of the Oklahoma VYPE Top 100 list.
The Stars (33-5) won their 19th Sooner Athletic Conference regular-season title last season, finishing as national runner-up for the fourth time (2003, 2004, 2005) after losing to Montana Western in the NAIA Division I women's basketball tournament championship.
Oklahoma City owns nine national championships won in 1988, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2012, 2014, 2015 and 2017.
